Association in a database

In a database, all of the information is classified, but to do so, we have to associate information with each other. It creates a common thread to identify each one and where it's stored. To do so, data are linked to unique identifier, commonly known as ID.

How does the ID work?

An ID is a word which indicates a precise object or a group of object. It can also be a character sequence which identify this role.

For instance, when you put your toys away in your box, you might put your legos together and each one will have its own ID.
